Electron Probe Micro Analyzer Lab

The laboratory has a Cameca SX50 electron microprobe equipped with five spectrometers (WDS) dispersion wavelength and a spectrometer (Link Analytical EXL) energy dispersive (EDS). The WDS  spectrometers are equipped with diffraction crystals LiF, PET, TAP, PC1 and PC3, which allow to quantitatively analyze the elements from C to U of minerals, volcanic glasses etc. prior calibration of specific Standard certificates. In addition to the analysis you can capture images in both backscattered electron (BSE) and secondary (SE) and make maps of elements measured with WDS (X-RAY MAP). Can be acquired very rapidly EDS spectra which allow to obtain semi-quantitative analysis.
